Septekh - The Seth Avalanche
Septekh are a death metal band from Sweden with a heavy Motorhead/Judas Priest influenced sound. I didn't have much hope for the "Seth Avalanche” after looking at some of the titles on the album such as "Fuckslut From Hell" and "Eating The Maneater". So, warily I put the album on, hoping against hope I wouldn't want to shoot myself in the head after listening to it.
As soon as "Fuckslut From Hell" came on, I was like "Meh", the song was really generic but had a couple of catchy parts to it.
Then the second track "Shoot Them All" came on and I was convinced that this was just going to be an album of generic song after generic song with brutal lyrics. I was convinced, but, a funny thing happened when the next song "Blunt Force To The Head" came on: I found myself liking it. This continued with the rest of the songs. Don't get me wrong the songs aren't masterpieces but they do the job when you want some good old fashioned death metal.

Sometimes you need to let the music grab you, then review it. I bet after couple listening you be jamming this an regular basis, great stuff. Thanks for the support !!!
ReplyDeleteFYI: I did listen a few times before the review, I still didn't care for the first couple, I did really like the last few though. I think the band will end up doing a really good album in the future though.
